Medical research is as important as ever
It may help someone like Emerson who hopes to be free of allergy one day.
“Food allergies are so common, more than people realise,” Emerson’s mother says. Australia has the highest rates of childhood food allergy in the world, with about one in 10 infants and one in 20 children up to five years of age being allergic. By the end of 2021 AIFA will have awarded a total of over $500,000 in research grants since the grant program began in 2015.
